All of our services can be found on our services page. We often get asked if we do the work and if we install our designs. All of our installations are able to be completed by Common Ground. 98% of our services are in house services and completed by the Common Ground team. Yes, we specialize in design AND build services. If you receive a design from us we have the capacity to install the design.
You can send us an email if you'd like a price for a project you have in mind. This doesn't mean we will provide a free estimate. We don't complete free design work. Therefore, if your project requires any design work on our end then we will refer you to our book a consultation page where there is a cost for our services.
This is simple. We value our time and while we love helping people, our time is NOT free. Here is what you receive during a consultation with us:
Our in person consultations include an hour+ in person meet. Consultations also include a site assessment. A site assessment includes observing topography, solar orientation, water sources and more. You can ask us any questions you have about your yard. This helps us get to know each other, your space and move forward with a plan of action.
In-person consultations cost $80+tax if you're located within Saskatoon. Prices vary if you're out of town.
Our online consults are via zoom and cost $80+tax. We’ll need pictures
and sizing of your space.
A design is necessary for any landscape renovation. The ONLY scenario in which you may not need a design is if you already have a design completed by a professional. In this case, we'll be wondering why you have chosen to not work with that company. Why are you wanting to work with us instead?
Designs range from $850-2,000+ depending on size.
Half property(front or backyard) renovations typically start at $5,000 and can cost up to $30,000+
Full property(front AND backyard) renovations range from $20,000-100,000+ depending on whether the property/project is small, medium or large.
With this information in mind, we ask you...what would you like it to cost? Do you have a budget for your project? We can work with your budget and share what your landscape can achieve with that price tag.
The simple answer is yes! If you’re wondering about the total cost, it costs more to do it in stages.
This question is asked very often. When the Earth is prepared, during installation, the seed bank is stirred up and an opportunity presents for the weed plants to fill a niche.
There are three options we propose for weeds:
Well, this is a common mistake we see. Landscaping fabric chokes the plants and is not healthy for the ecosystem or the soil. Your plants will grow happier when they can breathe. Landscaping fabric does not mean low-maintenance and it does not mean no weeds. Therefore, we do not use this method for garden beds.
Gardens, especially when the plants are rooting, need to be tended to and cared for. We like to use the phrase, “Gardens need love.”
What does this mean? Watering your garden every couple of days (during the first year especially) will ensure that the plants survive & thrive. Watering your garden after a heavy rain is not necessary. After the first two years of establishment, there is a foundation. The community of plants is becoming a dynamic ecosystem and watering needs are lessened.
Tending to one’s garden is an art and an opportunity to connect. If you want your garden to look or act a certain way, more effort is required. If we allow the intelligence of nature to bring forth its beauty, less effort is required. It all depends on what you choose.
